COMMON QUESTIONS
What you need to know.
Where MuteThis works, how it handles your data, and what to expect.
Where does MuteThis work?
MuteThis is being built for broad coverage across websites in Chrome. Coverage varies with page structure and accessible content. You can pause or exclude a website at any time.
What about GIFs and video?
MuteThis can check sampled GIF frames and video thumbnails. It does not watch entire videos. Missing or incomplete media checks stay covered and are labeled as incomplete.
What happens to the content it checks?
Selected text and image previews are sent to MuteThis and OpenAI for classification. MuteThis does not save that raw browsing content. Account rules, results and usage records support the service. Read the privacy details
Will it get everything right?
No. AI can miss content or cover something you wanted to see. Uncertain checks stay covered, with an explanation. You can reveal content, refine your rules and report mistakes.
